The App Date arrives at USA in order to boost the Latin American tech ecosystem

The Hispanic tech universe will take the word within the launch of The App Date in the US, the biggest Spanish speaking App discovery platform will celebrate in San Francisco its first event within the framework of Google I/O. With more than 11.000 influencers that have helped since 2010 in the creation of this network of knowledge and recommendation related to Apps and innovative technologies. The App Date has been held in the main Spanish speaking countries: Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Brazil and Chile. 6 countries with a monthly 4 million audience has strengthened The App Date as a referral of investigation and publisher of Apps trends.

Within the launch of The App Date in the US, in words of Oscar Hormigos, CEO of The App Date “it will culminates a journey of more than 4 years, 120 events and hundreds of experiences on both sides of the Atlantic, which natural destiny it would be a more competitive and mature market in the apps recommendation field”. Within a market of 500 million Spanish speaking persons, with 54 million of these, living in the US, the Hispanic universe leads as on the most attractive markets for new technologies. The figures confirm this: 2.8 billions of dollars were spent in the App market of hispanicphones, only during the last year, in part, by the high smartphones penetration, a 45% in 2014; while the economic growth rate has been estimated in more than a 23% for the next 3 years. However, despite these encouraging indicators, less than 5% of the apps content is available in Spanish.
